Benefits of Using Invisible Fences at Home
12 Mar 2010
Thousands of dogs wonder off the yard each year because they escaped from their homes. An underground dog fence can decrease the chance of losing your precious pet, without creating a fence that is ugly. Invisible fences are, conveniently, unseen to keep your yard looking flawless. This is a perfect way to keep your dog safe.
Practical
Each dog is unique in any given circumstances. Given the slightest chance, and they are off and sprinting. For such pets, a privacy fence doesn’t cut it. They will dig below, jump over or worry at a fence until they are free. The only effective solution is an electric fence. The fence provides instantaneous stimulus that will encourage your pet to stay within their preset limits.
Maybe one of the nicest atributes about electric fences is that they can be used in combination with an already placed privacy fence. You easily place the boundary wire about a foot further into the boundary in comparison to the existing structure, and your pet will stop digging around the bottom attempting to get out. Your dog should not be at risk for going on his natural born instincts.
Dogs that get out of their yards are often gone forever. Even with micro chipping and other modern techniques, dogs are more likely to getting hurt. Just because someone sees your dog on the loose doesn’t mean they will call animal control. Even if animal control is called, there is no guarantee they will respond in time to find and catch your pet. For owners of escape artists, the worry can be constant.
Simple
Installing an invisible dog fence is something most people can do all on there own. You will need a spade, a drill that can make it through your driveway or wall, a couple of screwdrivers and a kit. The system should come with the transmitting wire, a transmitter, and flags for training, a receiver and the collar. You can get extra batteries and extra collars if you have more than one pet.
Having marked off your desired area, use your spade to dig a shallow trench and fill in the wire. Drill through the basement wall if needed to place the wires into the transmitter and attach them into the power unit. Plug the unit into the electrical outlet. Charge the receivers and test the collars to make sure they work properly. Finish by following the training directions included.
Combining Equipment
I think one of my favorite benefits with an electric dog fences is that you can incorporate it with a dog door and provide your animal with so much freedom. avoid] messy accidents. Now you don’t have to worry about your dog bolting through the door as soon as you slightly open it.
An invisible pet fence can be a real advantage. Installed and used correctly, it is a great way to keep your four legged friend safe and at home.
